Family Program – Trash Talk: the Health of Biscayne Bay
Aug 26 @ 11:00 am – 2:00 pm
Family Program - Trash Talk: the Health of Biscayne Bay @ Vizcaya Museum and Gardens | Miami | Florida | United States

Join us for the culmination of #BayDrift, year 2! For this culminating program, we’re zooming out to explore the health of Biscayne Bay on a larger scale.  Throughout the gardens, we’ll have stations with community-based organizations, activities to experiment, art-making and more!

More about #BayDrift: Vizcaya is talking trash.  In 2016, Vizcaya approached the Patricia and Phillip Frost Museum of Science and CARTHE, a team of ocean scientists at the University of Miami’s Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science to start a conversation about trash and pollution at Vizcaya.

Together we launched an experiment, The Biscayne Bay Drift Card Study (#BayDrift), to identify the origin of the trash washing up into the basin of the Barge and mangroves around Vizcaya as well as the rest of Biscayne Bay. For the full story, go to
